This past Sunday (October 22), we, the Bohol Bloggers Collective had the privilege of attending the Grand Launching and Signing Ceremony of Miss Universe Philippines Bohol, held at the stunning Pearl Hall in Henann Panglao, Bohol. All thanks to Paolo Rigotti, Raul Gatal, and to the organizers for inviting us to be part of this sensational event. We had the honor of rubbing shoulders with some of the most influential figures in the pageant industry, including the National Director of MUPH, Shamcey Supsup-Lee, and the accredited franchise provincial director of MUPH Bohol, Wilma Laude Zamora.
A Night to Remember
The evening commenced with guests registering, a quick meet-and-greet to set the vibe just right. At 7ish, we had a delightful dinner serenaded by an acoustic band. Then, it was time for the main event! Here’s a glimpse of what went down.
Calling All Boholanas: Be the Next Miss Universe Philippines Bohol!
Do you dream of representing our province on the national stage and wants to be a part of this dazzling world? Now’s your chance. Miss Universe Philippines – Bohol welcomes you with open arms! MUPH Bohol is inviting all Boholanas aged 18 and above, regardless of marital status, to be a part of this empowering journey.
No Height Requirement: First things first, there’s no height requirement. So, don’t let height be a concern. Every Boholana is welcome to take this extraordinary opportunity.
No Age Limit: Secondly, there’s no age limit as long as you’re 18 years old and above. It’s never too late to chase your dreams and represent our beloved Bohol.
Married or with Children: No Problem! Now, here’s the exciting part. Whether you’re married or have children, you can still join Miss Universe Philippines Bohol. Your personal life journey makes you uniquely qualified to inspire others.
Transgender Women: Legal Restrictions Apply: While the Miss Universe International allows transgender women to participate, the rules in the Philippines require legal documentation that you declare yourself as a female. As a result, transgender women are not yet eligible to join Miss Universe Philippines.
How to Become a Candidate?
Becoming a Miss Universe Philippines Bohol candidate is within your reach in three ways:
- Win a regional competition organized by an accredited Miss Universe Philippines partner. By winning, you’ll automatically become an official candidate and wear the coveted sash.
- Participate in the screening. Since MUPH are asking to announce the winners by the end of January because the competition will start in February, organizers may have no time to create or to hold their own pageants. Thus, they can go on screening – ask the Boholanas to come and choose from there. This is an opportunity for those who may not have held their own pageant but have the qualities to represent Bohol.
- Get appointed. Accredited partner/s have the power to appoint an official candidate. Miss Universe Philippines will accept their selection without hesitation.
The screening will take place in the second week of November 2023, while the coronation will be held on January 28, 2024, right here in our beautiful island of Bohol. They’re on the lookout for 40 remarkable contestants because, let’s face it, Bohol is teeming with extraordinary women.
